Vivo Energy CI , which distributes and markets petroleum products and associated services in Côte d’Ivoire, is pleased to announce the appointment of its new Managing Director,Mr. Kader Maïga ,effective August 1, 2024.
Mr. Maïga brings to Vivo Energy CI extensive experience in the energy industry, with over twenty years in senior management positions at Shell and Vivo Energy.
He holds a Master of Science in Economics from the University of Wuppertal in Germany.
His career began at Shell as Head of Retail for Guinea and Mali, where he revolutionized the sector with his innovative approach and leadership in fuel and lubricant sales.
With Shell’s transition to Vivo Energy in 2011, Mr. Maïga was appointed Managing Director of Vivo Energy Mali.
He then served as Managing Director for Guinea, then for Madagascar in 2016, before taking the reins of Vivo Energy Senegal in 2019. Prior to his appointment in Côte d’Ivoire, he was Managing Director of Vivo Energy Ghana. In each of the countries he has led, he has built strong and successful businesses.
Mr. Maïga’s remarkable career is marked by recognized expertise in business development and operational transformation.
His arrival at the head of Vivo Energy CI is part of the continuity of a dynamic of sustained growth and innovation, initiated by his predecessor, Mr. Abou Sow.
Under Mr. Maïga’s leadership, Vivo Energy CI looks set to continue its growth trajectory with a focus on operational excellence, technological innovation, customer focus, and commitment to sustainability. “I am honored to join Vivo Energy CI and excited to work with such a talented and dedicated team.

Mr. Maïga succeeds Mr. Abou Sow, who successfully led Vivo Energy CI from February 2022 to July 2024.
