Pieter Prickaerts Newly Appointed Group CEO,CarePay International
In these roles, Pieter played a pivotal role in scaling CarePay’s technology in Kenya, making health insurance more accessible and affordable for Kenyans. Before joining CarePay, Pieter worked at McKinsey & Company across various geographies.

In his new capacity, Pieter will lead the international expansion to enable easy access to better care in more regions across the globe.
CarePay is a Kenyan company that administers conditional healthcare payments between funders, patients and healthcare providers. Through our M-TIBA platform, CarePay directs funds from public and private funders directly to patients into a “health wallet” on their mobile phone.
The use of these funds is restricted to conditional spending at selected healthcare providers across Kenya. With every transaction, CarePay combines the digital payment with real time medical and financial data collection, to help make healthcare safer and more transparent for both patients and healthcare providers.
CarePay has contracted more than 2,000 healthcare facilities across Kenya, with an ambition to drive healthcare inclusion for millions of Kenyans.
We are happy to share on the appointment of Pieter Prickaerts as the new CEO of CarePay Group, consisting of CarePay International and M-TIBA.
Pieter officially takes over the position on July 1st, 2024. Pieter has been with the CarePay group since 2019, first as Customer Success Director, and since 2023, as Managing Director of M-TIBA.
