Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM) has kicked off the 4th edition of the Mombasa Changamka Shopping Festival. The festival will run from today, 4th July, to 7th July 2024 at Oshwal Centre.
The festival brings together local manufacturers to showcase high-quality Made-in-Kenya products, in line with the Buy Kenya Build Kenya initiative, and to sell them directly to customers at discounted prices.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mombasa County Governor H.E. Abdullswamad Sherriff Nassir appreciated the innovation and diversity within the manufacturing sector. He noted that Mombasa County promises to work hand in hand with manufacturers, providing a skilled workforce to ensure efficient and effective operations, fostering economic growth and development in the region.
KAM Coast Region Chairman Mr Abdallah Athman expressed gratitude for the support from the county government and other stakeholders in promoting the Buy Kenya Build Kenya initiative to enhance competitiveness and productivity. He encouraged locals to take advantage of the sales during this period, saying, “I encourage all shoppers to visit the exhibitor stands showcasing 100% made-in-Kenya products. The Changamka Shopping Festival is unique because it allows you to interact directly with company representatives from the brands.”
KAM Head of Consulting and Business Development, Ms Joyce Njogu, remarked, “The Changamka Shopping Festival is a significant occasion for us at KAM.
It represents our commitment to promoting and supporting locally made products. We kicked off this festival in 2016 as the Kenya Manufacturing Summit and Expo, an event that has grown to become KAM’s flagship event.”
The 4th edition of Changamka Mombasa has been made possible by our sponsors and partners, to whom we owe much gratitude. Our main sponsor, Stanbic Bank Kenya, has been instrumental in supporting this event. We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to NCBA Group-Kenya, Smart Expo India, and the Grass Root Business Fund for their invaluable contributions.
