Israel Head of Economic Mission, Mr.Barak Granot paid a courtesy call to KAM to discuss trade opportunities between Israel and Kenya.
The Israeli Economic & Trade Mission in Nairobi is the operational-diplomatic arm of the Israeli Ministry of Economy & Industry in Kenya and provides a wide range of services to both Israeli companies and Kenyan companies.
These services include, allocating business opportunities for Israeli companies, organizing business delegations from Kenya to Israel, promoting Israeli exports and enhancing overall bilateral cooperation by promoting B2B and B2G meetings between both countries.
KAM CEO, Anthony Mwangi acknowledged that Kenya has been exploring ways to leverage Industry 4.0 to modernize its manufacturing sector and boost economic growth, stating that, “Israelis are advanced in tech and now we are looking at how we can tap into opportunities in smart manufacturing.”
Mr Mwangi also noted that the Association should focus more on engagements with Israel; sign an MoU between Israel Manufacturers Association and Kenya Association of Manufacturers(KAM) to enhance trade between the two nations, as well as offer water technology solutions to members.
Mr.Barak Granot observed that collaborative opportunities between KAM and the Economic & Trade Mission of Israel to Kenya, can help strengthen investment opportunities between the two countries, stating that “Israel is a startup nation and it’s widely recognized as one of the world’s leading startup hubs.”
He also noted that Israel has the knowledge, knowhow, and expertise in combating drought situations, converting sea water to drinking water (desalination), recycling wastewater through advance STPs: Israel is currently the largest water recycler, recycling 80% of its wastewater.
