Jambojet has annouced increased flights between Nairobi and Goma in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
It will now fly four times weekly to DRC on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.
The increase comes at a time when the airline sees an opportunity to offer travelers convenient access to the Eastern DRC.
“The 4th frequency will offer convenience to our customers, allowing more flexibility to their travel. We have so far flown over twelve thousand passengers on the route, and the discount is our way of saying thank you to our customers,” said Jambojet CEO Karanja Ndegwa.
“With increased flight frequencies, we hope to enhance business relations between Kenya and the Democratic Republic of Congo by offering convenient, fast, and affordable air service.”
To encourage bookings, customers will enjoy a 50 percent discount on the second ticket.Since the inaugural flight to Goma in September 2021, the airline has experienced increased customer interest.The route is popular for business travel, students, medical trips, and visiting relatives and friends.
It also has cargo operations across its network, with 76 percent of the cargo originating in Nairobi and Goma.Jambojet cargo products include mail, general cargo, pharmaceuticals, fresh produce, live seafood, and repatriation.The carrier flew over 1 million passengers in 2022, 37 percent more than in 2021.
The airline operates 8 routes from its primary hub in Nairobi to Mombasa, Kisumu, Malindi, Mombasa, Lamu, Eldoret, Diani, and Goma in the DRC. They also operate direct flights to Kisumu, Eldoret, and Lamu from their Mombasa secondary hub.
