- Isuzu EA Builds a Ksh 10 million Learning Resource Centre, Donates Computers and Books to Schools in Kakamega County, Spurring Digital Learning;
Isuzu East Africa in line with its mission to promote the right to quality education has today launched a Ksh 10million Isuzu Learning Resource Centre, and donated twenty (20) computers and IT equipment in schools across Kakamega County to support digital learning.
Speaking while presenting the computers and books to one of the schools; St Kizito Lusumu Girls Secondary School in Navokholo Constituency, Isuzu EA Board Chair and Managing Director, Rita Kavashe said:
“Education is vital to the economic growth of our country and Isuzu EA through its sustainability initiatives is relentlessly pursuing the fulfillment of equitable access to quality and relevant education for all in Kenya.
On her part, the school’s principal Lilian Elvuna lauded Isuzu EA for donating the computers to her school adding g as a learning institution, the school recognized and appreciates the role of ICT integration in education.
“The computers will go a long way in terms of implementing ICT learning in the school and will assist the students in learning the digital skills and accessing information online,” said Ms Elvuna. She further added:
“In order for ICT integration to be realized, schools need to have the right infrastructure installed which includes computers and network connectivity.”
In his view, Isuzu EA Director of Human Resources and Corporate Sustainability, Fred Wasike, said the company will continue to identify more innovative ways to create positive change in the community in line with its Sustainability Agenda.
“Isuzu looks at creating meaningful transformation in the society.Today’s children are tomorrow’s nation builders. What they need is a conducive environment to learn and nurture their abilities irrespective of their background or economic status,” he remarked.
In another significant investment in the county, a learning resource center built by Isuzu EA at a cost of Ksh 10 million was launched later in the day at Malava Primary school.
During the function, Isuzu EA Chair of the Board and Managing Director Rita Kavashe said that the company is dedicated to making a lasting impact in education and youth development.
