Glovo Partners with Pizza Inn to Elevate Dining Convenience for Kenyans, Gives Customers Discount up to 30% off

In line with its commitment to offer convenience to consumers in Kenya, leading multi-category app, Glovo, has entered into a strategic partnership with the renowned international pizza brand, Pizza Inn.
Effective immediately through the Glovo app, Kenyan customers in all the cities Glovo is present will be able to choose from an expansive menu featuring Pizza Inn’s diverse array of flavours, as well as other delectable meal options on the platform. All will be delivered within an average of 40 minutes of placing an order from the 68 Pizza Inn stores available in the app.
The move ties directly into the growth of pizza consumption on Glovo all through last year. In 2023 pizza orders saw a huge surge among Kenyas. An average of 130 pizzas a day were delivered in 2023 compared to 2022 according to the data on pizza consumption in Kenya by Glovo, which was released in recognition of World Pizza Day (9th February, 2024). Partners with pizza options have grown by 60% in 2023 compared to 2022, which reinforces the strategic decision to continue to grow this category through leading players such as Pizza Inn.
December is the month with the highest pizza consumption while Sundays are the day of the week with the highest consumption. Weekends (Saturday and Sunday) represent almost 40% of the weekly pizza orders.This shows that Kenyans love to eat pizza while relaxing during the weekend and the festive season. Dinner time is the preferred time for the consumption of pizza, with the peak at 7 pm – 40% of pizza orders consumption happens from 6-8 pm.
Kenya is the fourth African country after Morocco, Ivory Coast and Tunisia in pizza consumption. In Africa, pizza consumption grew by 27% in orders in 2023. Also, Kenyans placed 50% more pizza orders than Nigerians in 2023. In terms of cities, Nairobi covers 80% of pizza orders placed in KE in 2023. The cities with the highest growth in orders are Syokimau ranking first, with an increase of 126%, followed by Eldoret and Juja, with 69% and 46% increase in orders respectively, when compared to 2022.
To commemorate this World Pizza Day, as well as the partnership between Glovo and Pizza Inn, the multi-category platform is offering consumers massive discounts on their Pizza orders, such as the Real Saver! Combo Medium Classic Pizza, with 350ml Soda with a 30% discount.
