Prof Isaac Ongubo Kibwage is the new Vice Chancellor at Egerton University.
In a statement, Acting university council chairperson Dr. Wilson Kipruto Ronnoh said the move follows consultations with Education CS Prof George Magoha.
“Following the interview process carried out by the Public ServiceCommission (PSC), and after consultations with the Cabinet Secretary for Education, in exercise of the provisions of Section 35(1)(a)v) of the Universities Act, 2012, we, the Egerton University Council, have or this 5th day of October 2021 appointed Prof, Isaac Ongubo Kibwage, HSC as the new Vice Chancellor of Egerton University.” the University council said in a statement.
The interview process was conducted by the Public Service Commission. Prof Kibwage’s appointment takes effect immediately.
He replaces Rose Mwonya who retired in June 2020.
