Communication Authority (CA) has unveiled the 5th Strategic Plan which it terms a momentous occasion for the Authority.The Plan is people-centred, anchored on our unwavering belief that digital access for all Kenyans is possible.
The mission according to the regulator is to enable, through responsive and effective regulation, the development of a sustainable digital society where innovation thrives, consumers are empowered, and technology products and services transform lives and communities.
Over the last five years , the Authority has made significant strides in enhancing access to mobile connectivity, broadcasting and Internet services, but our work is not done. Kenya’s digital potential is vast and the Strategic Plan 2023-2027 provides new impetus for the achievement of to drive Kenya’s ICT agenda.
The Strategic Plan rests on four key pillars: Promotion of Meaningful Connectivity to ICT Services, Empowerment and Protection of ICT Consumers , Fostering Competitive ICT Markets and Emerging Technologies, and; Enhancement of Organizational Efficiency and Effectiveness.
In the coming five years,CA has identified 17 strategic objectives including increasing broadband penetration, adoption of emerging technologies, improvement in cyber security, expansion of postal and courier services and the digital empowerment of women, the youth and people living with disabilities.
