
- GT Bank Kenya, Posta Partner to expand Banking access
Guaranty Trust Bank (Kenya) Ltd and the Postal Corporation of Kenya (Posta) have signed a Partnership agreement, set to expand banking accessibility across the country.
The signing ceremony took place on 16th April 2025 at their head office in Nairobi.
“We held the official signing ceremony of a landmark partnership between Guaranty Trust Bank (Kenya) Ltd and the Postal Corporation of Kenya,” read part of the statement.
The bank said that this collaboration will see the rollout of GTExpress agency banking outlets across select Posta branches, starting with 50 locations in May and expanding to over 500 outlets nationwide by 2027.
The partnership is a strategic step towards making everyday banking more accessible, efficient, and secure for Kenyans across the country—especially in underserved areas.
Speaking at the event, Jubril Adeniji, Managing Director of GTBank Kenya, said that this partnership with Posta marked a major milestone in their commitment to bringing banking closer to Kenyans.
“In addition to enhancing financial inclusion in the country, we shall be leveraging technology and Posta’s extensive nationwide network to make it easier for people to access essential financial services,” Adeniji said.
John Kipyegon Tonui, Postmaster General and CEO of Posta said that,
“Today marks a significant milestone in our journey to expand financial inclusion and enhance service delivery through strategic partnerships.”
The bank further said that the partnership demonstrates GTBank’s confidence in Posta’s capacity to meet expectations in delivering efficient customer service.
The Bank expressed it’s gratitude to a successful pilot and scaling the initiative to reach more Kenyans across the country.
Through GTExpress,Customers will be able to Deposit and withdraw cash, Transfer Funds via Pesalink Instant Payment, and through Digital submission of account opening data.
