
Silver Box, a Middle East investment firm, has acquired Kenyan automaker Mobius Motors, pledging to revive production and launch a new 4×4 SUV by December 2025.
Silver Box specializes in driving businesses forward through intelligent investment, expert corporate management and advance technology.
With a total investment of approximately KES 5 billion over 14 years, Mobius Motors has built a strong foundation in Kenya’s automotive industry.
This acquisition continues the company’s philosophy of growth for Mobius, as Silver Box takes the helm to continue the legacy of the Kenyan manufactured automobile.
The company has already re-opened the service center and resumed services of Mobius Vehicles.
Production and manufacturing will continue in full operation by July 2025 for the Mobius 3 Model.
Leadership Transition
Mr. Shabbir Jivanjee, Consultant and Transaction Advisor, Mobius Motors has appointed Mr. John Kavila as the C.O.O. as part of a leadership transition.
With extensive expertise in manufacturing, operations ,and customer service, Kavila is poised to drive the company’s strategic expansion and growth initiatives.

“Among the three bids. Silver Box’s offer stood out as the best choice-not only for ensuring the continuity of Mobius but also for driving its growth and success in the next phase,” he said noting that,
“I’m happy to hand over to John Kavila who will pursue the development of Mobius Motors, company founded by Joel Jackson fourteen years ago, I have worked relentlessly in the last five years with the management team to elevate Mobius to the next level.”
He further said that Silver Box will provide Kavila with the visionary and financial support needed to expand the brand’s market share.
This will involve introducing newer models, developing a network of service stations, and establishing Mobius Motors as a major player across Africa.
With Silver Box’s support, Mobius Motors is poised to drive innovation and expand Kenya’s automotive sector, reinforcing its role as a leader in sustainable and locally focused vehicle production.
