Sasai Money Transfer has partnered with airtel Money to extend its zero-fee remittance service to additional African markets. This expansion allows users in the United Kingdom and South Africa to send money to Uganda without incurring any transfer fees
The collaboration aims to make cross-border money transfers more accessible and affordable for African diaspora communities.
The initiative builds on Sasai’s existing free remittance services to countries like Zimbabwe, Ghana, and Cameroon.
The partnership seeks to increase financial inclusion and support economic growth in African countries by eliminating transfer fees.
This move is particularly significant given the importance of remittances to many African economies.
Darlington Mandivenga, CEO of Sasai Fintech, underlined the company’s unwavering commitment to expanding its zero-fee corridor to more African countries.
The partnership with Airtel Money, which has a substantial presence in Uganda, is expected to enhance the reach and efficiency of cross-border money transfers.
This development aligns with the growing trend of digital financial services in Africa, potentially transforming how remittances are sent and received across the continent. It’s a reassurance of our commitment to providing a reliable and efficient service.
Airtel Money customers can now receive money directly into their mobile money wallet from any network without the withdrawal code that carried 7-day validity.
This development effected on February 6, 2024 comes in response to the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) and industry players collaborative efforts to ensure seamless mobile money interoperability as outlined in the CBK National Payments Strategy 2022-2025.
