Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) hosted its Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards Ceremony.In a significant acknowledgment of its commitment to exceptional service,Kisumu International Airport was crowned the Best Overall Airport, distinguishing itself in Overall Customer Experience as an evening of recognition and celebration unfolded at the Acacia Hotel in Kisumu
Adding to the evening’s accolades,Wilson Airport was celebrated as the Most Enjoyable Airport, while Eldoret International Airport took the title of Cleanest Airport.Malindi International Airport’s staff were honored with the award for Most Dedicated Staff, demonstrating their unwavering dedication to service.
Marking a notable achievement in service improvement, Wajir International Airport was recognized as the Most Improved Airport, showcasing its dedication to enhancing passenger experience while Diani Airport was recorgnised under the Managing Director’s Role of Excellence Award.
The competition was robust as Eldoret International Airport proudly stood as the 1st runner-up, and Malindi Airport as the 2nd runner-up in the Best Overall Airport category. These honors reflect the competitive excellence and quality KAA nurtures across its network.
These successes echo the results of a decade-long initiative by KAA, which started with the Airport Recognition and Employee Mystery-shopping program in 2012. The results have been clear, with customer satisfaction ratings soaring above 4.0. Moi International Airport (MIA) and Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) have also received global recognition in the ACI’s esteemed ASQ Awards, testament to the program’s effectiveness.
In light of these achievements, KAA has relaunched the KAA-ASQ Program, a dedicated effort to bolster service delivery and honor the exceptional work of airport staff. This program, in synergy with the Aviation Business Excellence Awards (ABEA), aims to create a comprehensive environment for promoting service delivery excellence throughout KAA’s airports.
The KAA ASQ Awards Ceremony was not only an event to honor the outstanding service quality at Kenya’s airports but also a reaffirmation of KAA’s ongoing commitment to excellence and improvement in its pursuit of world-class service standards.
