Hillary Wachinga succeeds Jadiah Mwarania at Kenya Re

Kenya Re-Insurance Corporation Ltd(Kenya Re) has appointed Dr.Hillary Maina Wachinga as the Managing Director.Dr.Wachinga has been on the Kenya Re helm for over 17 years as an auditor and risk management where he has been at the Management level.”His visionary and well reasearched business solutions have maximized realisation of Corporate goals in entities he has worked for”Statement from the Corporation stated.

Before his appointment Dr.Wachinga has been overseeing the risk and compliance operations at the Corporation which enabled him to have deep understanding of various cultures,business and regulatory environments in Africa,Middle East and Asia.

He is the holder of doctorate in Business Administration,Masters in Business Administration and undergraduate BSC degree in Computer Science-All from University of Nairobi(UoN).In additionr,Dr.Wachinga is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya(CPA-K),Certifed Information Systems Manager(CISM),Certified in Risks and information Systems Control(CRISK),Certified Information Systems Auditor(CISA),Certified Enterprise Risk Manager(CERM) and Certified Compliance Analyst(CCA)

Other qualifications are the certificates in insurance profiency(COP)from College of Insurance as well as Project Management from Strathmore University and Corporate Governance from Centre of Corporate Governance.

Dr.Hillary Maina Wachinga’s main expertise was Corporate Strategic planning and execution,relationship management with key stake holders and capacity building.He is taking over from Mr Jadiah Mwarania who steerheaded the Corporation to greater achievements and retired December 2022
