Pupils at Muthaiga Primary School will now enjoy a clean and improved learning environment thanks to OLA Energy Kenya and Chandaria Industries partnership.
The two companies came together to facilitate an environmental conservation initiative aimed at transforming Muthaiga Primary School, which produces a lot of paper waste and lacks effective waste management strategies that are sustainable with minimal environmental effects. This is in line with this year’s World Environment Day theme ‘Only One Earth’ which advocates for transformative environmental change, through collective action while emphasizing among other things, recycling and pollution control.
The initiative involves the collection of paper waste by the more than 1,000 pupils at Muthaiga Primary School and recycling them into tissue paper under the brand Rosy by the largest recycler of waste paper in the region, Chandaria Industries. The learners will then benefit from a more sustainable environment where they can flourish as they learn.
Speaking during the event, OLA Energy’s General Manager Dr. Yousef Elhemmali said,“We are happy to bring positive change to our neighbours here at Muthaiga Primary school today as part of our environmental conservation initiative. OLA Energy and Chandaria are committed to championing a safe and healthy environment which is the foundation of a healthy life for all”.
